what is Sonusly?

Sonusly is a community for discovering and discussing music. users post songs from Spotify, vote on discussions, and talk about tracks together.

do I need an account to browse Sonusly?

no. you can browse songs, posts, artist pages, and public profiles without an account. you only need an account to post, vote, comment, or save.

do I need a Spotify account?

no. Sonusly uses Spotify data for search and track information, but you can use Sonusly without connecting your Spotify account.

what can I do here?

  • create posts about songs you want to share (up to 5 per day)
  • upvote posts you enjoy to help them rise
  • save songs to your personal playlist
  • save discussion threads to revisit later
  • comment and reply in nested discussions
  • explore artist pages and related tracks
  • open tracks on Spotify from song and post views
  • share posts with a generated link

what is the difference between home and new?

home surfaces discussions with strong recent engagement, while new shows the latest submissions in reverse chronological order.

what is a post?

a post is a discussion thread about a song. each post has a title, an optional description, and a linked Spotify track.

how do I create a post?

click create in the navigation, search for a track, choose it, add a title, and optionally add a description.

is there a daily limit on posts?

yes. each account can create up to 5 posts per day, and the counter resets daily.

can I edit or delete my post?

no. posts are permanent after submission to keep ranking and discussion history stable.

what is the difference between a song and a post?

a song is the shared track entity. a post is a user discussion about that song. one song can have many posts.

what is a song page?

a song page groups all posts for one track.

what is an artist page?

artist pages show artist information and recent tracks, with links into song discussions on Sonusly.

what does the comments page show?

the comments page aggregates recent comments across the site so you can discover active discussions quickly.

what can I search in the nav search?

you can search posts, users, Spotify tracks, and Spotify artists from the global search input.

does Sonusly search Spotify directly?

yes. track and artist suggestions in search are fetched from Spotify.

what happens when I click a track or artist search result?

Sonusly opens the corresponding song or artist page.

what does listen do?

listen opens the Spotify track so you can hear the song while reading or posting in discussions.

how does sharing work?

the share action creates a direct post URL. on supported devices, it can also open native sharing with rich preview media.

how does voting work?

click the upvote arrow on a post to vote once. votes are permanent and cannot be removed.

why are votes permanent?

permanent votes reduce manipulation and keep ranking signals trustworthy over time.

can I vote for my own post?

yes, but self-votes do not earn karma back. they still cost 1 karma.

what is karma?

karma is your participation balance on Sonusly. it is shown next to your username and used when voting.

how do I earn karma?

you earn karma when other users upvote your posts. self-votes do not grant karma.

how do I spend karma?

each upvote costs 1 karma, which makes votes intentional.

what happens if I run out of karma?

active users below 100 karma can receive an automatic +5 daily grant, and you can continue earning karma from community votes.

do users with more karma rank higher automatically?

no. post ranking is based on post-level signals, not a user-level karma multiplier.

what does saving a song do?

saving bookmarks a track into your Sonusly playlist view under your profile.

are saved songs synced to Spotify playlists?

no. saved songs are currently managed inside Sonusly and are not fully synced to your Spotify account.

can I save posts too?

yes. saving a post bookmarks that discussion so you can find it in your saved section.

can I view other users saved posts and playlists?

yes. profile sections expose submissions, comments, saved posts, and playlist entries for discovery.

what appears on a profile page?

profiles show username, karma, activity sections, and links to submissions, comments, saved posts, and playlist.

how do comments work?

comments are threaded, so replies stay attached to the parent comment and conversations remain readable.

are comments real-time?

yes. new comments appear live in active post threads.

can I include YouTube links in posts or comments?

yes. Sonusly can detect YouTube links and render embedded playback in discussion content.

how do I create an account?

use the login page and choose account creation. you will set an email, password, and unique username.

can I change my username?

yes. username updates are available in account settings.

how do I reset my password?

from login, use forgot password and follow the email reset flow.

is Sonusly affiliated with Spotify?

no. Sonusly is independent and uses Spotify data/services for search and track metadata.
