what is Sonusly?
Sonusly is a music-industry discussion site. you can create posts, read replies from people and AI, save useful discussions, and browse jobs.
do I need an account?
no. you can read public posts, replies, profiles, and jobs without signing in. you need an account to create posts, reply, vote, save, flag, tip, buy credits, or use paid AI features.
what can I do with an account?
what are the main rules?
be useful, honest, and on topic. do not spam, harass people, fake engagement, share private information, or share content you do not have the right to share.
what should I keep out of Sonusly?
all non-music-related discussions, private information, and anything confidential.
how do I create a post?
use the composer on the home page. you can ask normally, ask with AI help, or import a ChatGPT shared link to turn it into a post.
how are posts sorted?
home favors posts that are useful, recent, and getting genuine activity. new shows the newest public posts first.
why is one post above another?
ranking is not just points and time. flags, moderation, freshness, and real discussion activity can all affect where a post appears.
when can people reply?
people can reply while the reply window is open. human replies close after 14 days, or sooner if a discussion is closed for safety, spam, or moderation reasons.
why can't I reply?
you may need to sign in, the reply window may be closed, or the discussion may have been closed by moderation.
can I edit or delete something I wrote?
yes. you can edit or delete something you wrote until someone replies to it.
are repeated posts ok?
yes, when the subject has changed or did not get a useful answer before. repeated promotion or asking the same thing over and over may be moderated.
can I add links?
yes, when the link helps explain the post or reply. do not use links to disguise spam, scams, tracking traps, or ads.
what is karma?
karma is a simple reputation signal based mostly on votes from your public posts and replies.
do high-karma users rank higher?
no. karma belongs to the user, not to every post they create.
why don't I see downvotes?
some voting controls unlock only after enough karma. this keeps new accounts from using downvotes too aggressively.
what unlocks with karma?
everyone can ask, reply, and upvote. downvotes on replies unlock at 501 karma.
can I ask people to upvote?
no. people should vote because they find something useful, not because someone asked for promotion. paid votes, vote rings, and coordinated boosting can lead to moderation.
can I ask people to reply?
do not coordinate replies just to make a discussion look active. asking one relevant person to add real context is fine.
what happens when something is flagged?
flags tell moderators that a post, reply, or job may be spam, unsafe, off topic, hateful, misleading, or otherwise against the rules.
how do I flag something?
sign in and use the flag control on the post, reply, or job listing. flags are private.
how does Sonusly use AI?
AI can help start a post, answer a private follow-up, add another professional-style reply, or turn a ChatGPT shared link into a Sonusly discussion.
are AI replies always right?
no. AI can be wrong, outdated, or incomplete. use it as a starting point and check anything important before relying on it.
is AI professional advice?
no. AI replies are not legal, financial, tax, medical, career, rights, or business advice. talk to a qualified person before making important decisions.
what is private ask?
private ask lets you ask AI a follow-up that only you can see inside Sonusly. it is not shown publicly in the product. do not include private information or anything confidential.
does Sonusly train its own AI model on my private asks?
no. Sonusly does not currently operate its own foundation model and does not use private AI prompts to train a Sonusly-owned model. AI features are processed through third-party AI infrastructure.
can private ask use web search?
yes, when you choose that option. search can help AI find current public information, but you should still check the sources yourself.
can I import a ChatGPT link?
yes, if it is a shared ChatGPT link and you have the right to share it publicly. imported discussions should not include private, confidential, or copyrighted material you cannot share.
what are credits?
credits are an in-app balance used for paid AI actions and tips. they are separate from karma and have no cash value outside Sonusly.
what do AI actions cost?
current credit costs are shown in the product and may change going forward. current examples include:
how do I buy credits?
signed-in users can buy credit packs. available packs are 100, 500, and 2000 credits.
what are tips?
tips let you send credits to a helpful human reply. tips are voluntary and are not payment for professional services.
can I list a job?
yes. use the jobs page so the listing has the right fields and can be found by people looking for music-industry work.
what does a job listing need?
what job details are optional?
does Sonusly verify job listings?
no. job listings are submitted by users. Sonusly may remove listings that look misleading, unsafe, spammy, discriminatory, unlawful, expired, or off-topic, but applicants should independently check the company, application link, compensation, and opportunity before applying.
what is public?
public posts, public replies, public AI replies, usernames, karma, join dates, profile bios, saved public posts, source links, vote totals, comment counts, and job listings may be visible to anyone. public content may also appear in search engines, archives, screenshots, external links, and AI-powered search or chatbot tools.

Sonusly may delete or anonymize account information. some public content may remain visible without your account details where needed to preserve discussion context, moderation records, safety, legal compliance, or service integrity.
does Sonusly sell my data?

Sonusly does use service providers for hosting, database, authentication, analytics, checkout, and AI features. if non-essential analytics cookies are used, consent controls may apply.
